Environment

Global Supply Store has a very deep commitment to the protection of the environment be it in the air, land or water. Obviously we thrive on clean oceans so we prioritize our charitable dollars to worthy causes that promote and protect the ocean, rivers, lakes and other water bodies, but we ultimately engage in any environmental project we deem worthy of our time and money.

Global Supply Store is a PROTECTOR OF THE SEA. We live CLEAN & GREEN. Our bodies are clean, our minds are clean, our environment is clean, our spirits are cleaner everyday. If they aren't, we make them clean. We get involved. We get our hands dirty. We make it happen.
We urge you and your family and friends to RECYCLE. BUY GREEN. LIVE GREEN. Do NOT pollute our waters. Learn about and foster sustainable environments. Like greener farming practices. Demand GREEN. Demand LIFE.

We apportion up to 5% or our net profits to various causes around the world because we believe that ecosystems are complex in nature and we understand that environmental damage in one part of our planet will eventually be felt all around the world. Because the world’sglobal ecosystem is fragile at the moment, every action we take (all of us) to preserve it will move us closer to our goal of promoting and achieving a clean and safe environment for our generation as well as thousands to come.

We can all make a difference. Small changes make big progress. Positive Links for a Positive World:

LION FISH CONTAINMENT CAUSE

We recently began arming local scuba shops and native fisherman in Cartagena, Colombia with spears in order to aid the local population contain the massive spread of the infamous "Lion Fish", a non-native invasive species with no natural predators and an appettite that is satisfied by praying on anything that moves. This phenomena is widespread through the Caribbean and the United States and Global Supply Store has taken a proactive step to eliminate this threat by empowering locals with weapons (hand-activated spears) and education. We strongly believe that small actions like this one go a very long way as the techniques used in containment will be passed on to the next generation and word-of-mouth will spread this news fast so everyone can act together.

A clever approach, after realizing that local fishermen were unwilling to kill Lion Fish because they were "too beautiful", not to mention deadly venomous, we kindly suggested the fish be hunted and used to prepare one of our favorite delicacies; Lion Fish Ceviche. Yes! Ceviche.
Just cut the spikes off before you prepare and voila! A true delicacy. Plus, a great conversation starter for your next party.

We urge you to engage these fish with caution but be ready to eliminate them at sight. We never advocate mindless destruction of any species, but this is unique in that the species is invasive, has no natural predators (except us), and it has an appettite to rival that of most sharks. Plus it prays on younger fish and so these other species are unable to populate these waters to ensure the survival of their species. Lion Fish populations thrive in the waters of the Pacific from which they orignate and in which they are a healthy part of the natural ecosystem and food chain.

Check out this video about sustainable fishing and see how they also deal with the Lion Fish threat in the land of Bob Marley:
